Pages from The Ensign Handbook of Photography circa 1912

This little catalogue belonged to my grandfather. He owned an Ensign just like this one. I estimate the date around 1912, from the models on sale. It could be a little later.

The camera prices which range from £6 to £10 are interesting. According to Hansard  (for 1930) "In 1913 the average wage of all people working in connection with mines was £82 for the year.", or about £1.60 per week So an entry level camera was about 4 weeks wages. Today, that would be about £2000.
